The Energy Problem
The energy problems of today hardly need any words of explanation, it is evident to everybody, more and more energy is being used. In Asian countries the energy need is immense, and at the same time the resources become more and more scarce, the stock in raw materials is limited. Therefore the search for alternatives is imperative.
Free Energy
Solar energy is from our point of view still no alternative at the moment, Photovoltaic panels would have to be cleaned theoretically once a week, and they scratch easily. Solar panels also have a relatively low energy output achievement.
The high costs and the relatively low yield allow only a possibility to feed into the National Grid to achieve any hope of reimbursement. For total ‘own’ consumption, solar energy is not the best option yet. What other options do we have? More Nuclear, Gas and Coal power stations!
The energy providers want to develop wind energy further. Very creditable, but not cheaper for the end user. Using the banner of “regenerative energy” they will use the excuse of extra costs being involved, to increase energy prices to the consumer even further.
Biogas (Fermentation gas) is the big hope for many. But apart from the relatively big expenditure involved, raw materials have to be grown. These crops must be harvested and processed, which generates other huge costs. I see in this no progress. ‘Food crops’ should be grown to feed people, not to produce electricity.
Wave/Tidal power, once developed, will provide energy to produce electricity, but ‘Wind power’ has one major advantage over this energy source . The wind blows around every property, so we have the perfect opportunity to provide or own energy supply, in many cases independent of the major energy providers.
